Kpop idols who are not skinny

I read a blog today on KoreaBoo that someone had written. It addressed how Sooyoung looked in a recent photo shoot that she did for HighCut. The post suggested that many people had started to fear for Sooyoung's health because they thought she was 'too skinny'.

After seeing this, I began to remember pictures that I'd seen previously of idols who looked extremely skinny With the new rise of 'curvy' bodies being the best figure in the West, we've seen some idols take to this trend such as Hyuna, or CL, or Yuri, but are old photos of idols affecting how new groups view themselves?

This photo is of Yuri from the Hoot promotion in the GG era. Fans noticed how she looked crazily skinny compared to their previous comebacks. A lot of people started to fear for Yuri's health until she put more weight back on. Hara was known for being very very skinny, yet she was seen as the ideal body type in Korea. This leads me onto how idols influence other idols.

Despite members coming into the group as supposedly 'chubby' or 'fat', all of the members were said to have gone on extensive diets and exercise routines. Now new groups think that in order to become as popular as the groups before want to reflect this behaviour. Taemin Shinee is one of the boys that have been criticised for being too skinny Also I have a great collab coming up soon! If you want to collaborate with me click here and just ask!

Each person has a different body type.

Depending on what shape their body is there are weights that are considered healthy for each. As long as an idol is healthy that's all I care about. It may look like they are too skinny but maybe they are perfect weigh for their body type. Idgaf about body type. As long as it is healthy for the specific person, and fits their health needs, then I don't see a problem. But yeah some people do take it too far.

Join the community.People all over the world dream of being pop stars, but perhaps nowhere else more than South Korea. While their northern neighbors are wondering where the next meal is coming from, South Koreans are obsessing over every detail of their K-Pop stars' lives and striving to be as much like them as possible.

This regularly leads to really weird and creepy incidents, but those "lucky" enough to actually be an idol are still expected to appreciate it, no matter what hell they're put through. The music might be groovy and the dance moves peppy, but peek under the surface and the K-Pop world is swarming with all kinds of metaphorical maggots. When a contract you sign is colloquially called a "slave contract," you might want to think twice.

One of the major problems with K-Pop contracts is that stars basically sign their lives away. According to the pop star Prince Makyou might sign a contract that says for the next seven to 15 years you have to stay with the group and do exactly what you're told. Maybe that doesn't sound so bad; after all, it's less than what you'd get for murder, right? And this contract comes with the perks of being famous. Except not really. The catch is that the contract years only start "counting down" once you have your "debut" as a star.

And that could take a while. You might be trained for up to ten years before you ever set foot on a stage or in a recording studio. Even once you become a household name, things don't get better because that long-term contract you signed probably didn't leave room for you to make any money. No matter how famous you get, slavery doesn't pay. But they're one of the biggest K-Pop bands of all time, so don't the rest of you get your hopes up.

Like other areas of entertainment, K-Pop has a casting couch. Because of your slim chances of success and how much power management has, you might find yourself at any moment bartering sex for fame. In K-Pop it might be called "sponsorship" or "transactions," but at the end of the day it's selling your body for success.

Seoul Beats said one girl was even asked to marry a powerful guy she had no interest in. Being a K-Pop star can also be an in-road to an acting career. InKorea Joongang Daily reported that 60 percent of actresses were expected to sexually pay for roles in some way.

Actresses have even been known to kill themselves over the expectation of prostitution. Even if you haven't ever sold sex for favors in your life, that doesn't mean you're safe from suspicion. Part of the problem was they referred to themselves as "sisters" a normal term of endearment in Korea when it was clear they were not blood related and they had a lot of sexy clothes in their suitcases. This sent up red flags to the officers and it took a while until the problem was sorted out.

Young, hot Asian chicks, beware: There's obviously no reason you'd be coming to America except to sell your bodies. Stars getting plastic surgery isn't exactly a breaking news headline, but K-Pop stars take it to another level. According to The Atlanticone in five Korean women have had plastic surgery, as opposed to one in 20 American women.I possibly want to audition one day I'm not expecting to get in at all but I may be surprised.

I know Shindong was chubby when he auditioned and he succeeded but he's still WAY more slimmer than I am.

I'm currently practicing songs just getting to completely know the lyrics and try to sing like them etc it's just that in the future if I do decide to audition I'm thinking my weight would put a huge influence on the judges decisions and that I would be declined. I'm lbs. If you do not have some sort of medical condition that makes it difficult for you to exercise or lose weight, then you really should get on that if you even want to consider breaking into the korean entertainment industry. Im not saying that its impossible, as more surprising things have happened in the past, but just that it would make your chances so much better if you did.

Dont feel like being fat is your identity, because its definitely something you can change. It does take a lot more effort and strength of will than many people think, but its definitely possible.

If you start now and work on choosing better foods and eating less, and exercising several times a week, i think that you will see results. If you really try i think you can lose in a year.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans but mostly and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise. Some people might turn you down the minute you walk in because of your weight.

Kpop idols are usually kept at their top physical condition and if you do have a great amount of talent, you'll be pressured to drop the weight. If you do decide to lose some weight, dont do the starving thing since that has a bad impact on your body.

That being said, I think it would be awesome for a big Kpop idol to be popular since a lot of them are really really skinny and if you think your talent should succeed your weight, then I bid you all my luck :.

If you want to attract fans then yes. Most entertainment companies prefer you slim because it makes you look prettier, and being attractive lures more fans to buy things like albums and other merchandise to contribute to the company. Think of Secret, to me, their barely considered fat. Shindong is just an exception. I got this idea from Dream High, because one of the characters was like kg that's like lbs and she lost a lot of weight but they continually brought up her old days when she was fat.

When Shindong auditioned it was no question that he had talent but it's because the media would probably bring up pre-debut pictures of him being chunky and cause a huge commotion that they let him stay the way that he was. To be honest, I think before you audition for a kpop entertainment company, you should try to slice your weight in half because you probably will be rejected because you're almost lbs. Oh and let me just say when you lose weight, don't starve yourself because that will just give the yo-yo effect which is once you start to eat regularly again, you'll gain more weight than you lost.

And plus, when you starve yourself you lose muscle weight and then when the yo-yo effect takes place and you eat regularly again, the weight comes back as fat weight so it'll just be a waste of time.

Usually the people audition when they're young and if they're accepted at like whatever age for example 11 then they debut at like By Sexy WangMay 15, in Random. I think Sungjong is very skinny, but still I love him. My bias, especially compared to the meaty Donghae. We have placed cookies on your device to help make this website better.

Idols need to be very skinny but some of them wants to be different.

Wants to be like they want and i'm proud of them! Skinny is not a synonym of beauty. Each person have a different body! We need to accept our body! So I will share you for me the most beautiful body in Kpop even every body is beautiful! She's very pretty and very beautiful at gymnastics and dance!

It makes me sad how entertainments make idols go on a strict diet. Yes I know that they want them to be in shape and have the perfect body, but to me, I feel like they're going a bit too far. Not like really far but just a bit.

It also makes me upset how some girl idols can't go. I can eat as much as I want but I have never gone past pounds. I have been losing more weight then gaining. I'm around pounds as my average now and I eat a lot and not much exercise x. IU is 99 pounds. Some are skinny and some are normal, there a ones with full cheeks or other body parts. I'm saying no because there are some idols who have mentioned they have high metabolism like Sihyoung and L.

Also sure some may seem skinny but if they fall under the good health category I don't see why not. Plus some of them are also thin from predebut so some were already skinny from before. So there are skinny idols but then again a lot of them seem to fall into the healthy category. I've seen a few skinny ones but honestly all the ones I've seen so far eat enough food even in there videos and look pretty healthy I have always felt there body structures in general were a bit different from ours I've ordered shirts before that say Asian size and I order them XXL and when they arrive the shirts don't look at all like there XXL it's more there body size I'm a bit skinny but like big shirts but even for me it felt a bit tight I'm not sure if the shirts saying that refers to them having different body structure in general from us but I thought to myself it was a bit interesting.
